People (new yorkers) are assholes

This morning on my way to work, I fell.  I fell in the subway coming down the steps.  I landed hard on both knees and one hand and all my stuff went flying.  Other than one dude who half heartedly asked "are you okay" no one even batted an eyelid.

Now I know I'm not some old lady, or little kid or visibly pregnant chick but come on New Yorkers, have some freaking decency!!  When someone falls down in the subway and is visibly in pain, help them up for Christ's sake! My knee hurts, but my feelings towards humanity are bruised far worse.

I seem to have misplaced my job

The term, "I lost my job" is such a weird one.  I didn't lose my job, it simply doesn't exist anymore.

Anyway living the life of the unemployed has not been that different from my employed life.  I did apply for unemployment (I think -- the process is rather convoluted) and I've been trying to find other work but for the most part I'm still "working."

I have been freelancing (well doing favors for friends) out of my old office. Tomorrow I head to Austin to visit my besties and hopefully figure out what the heck I want to do with my life.  We'll see how that goes.

Anyway, if anyone knows of any web development type jobs please let me know.

It's not my problem you can't control your dog

<rant>

this morning while getting coffee at the window at dunkin' donuts a woman in line ahead of me had a big golden retriever who freaked out when she saw my dog joey and she spilled her coffee.  She then proceeded to yell at me for not warning her that I had a dog.  Lady, you have eyes, and you also need to watch your dog.  I couldn't even see her dog behind the line formed in front of DD.  So it's not my problem you can't control YOUR dog.  My dog is fine.
