Basically, Hazel allows you to put rules on certain folders and then associate actions in those folders.  I'm using it in conjunction with DropBox to move files back and forth from my work computer to home computer without clogging up my precious 2GBs in my DropBox (if you do not have a DropBox account, please click here and get one.  It will change your life).

Hazel watches whatever folders you tell it to, automatically organizing your files according to the rules you create. It features a rule interface similar to that of Apple Mail so you should feel right at home. Have Hazel move files around based on name, date, type, what site/email address it came from (Safari and Mail only) and much more. Automatically put your music in your Music folder, movies in Movies. Keep your downloads off the desktop and put them where they are supposed to be.

 

You kind of have to check it out to see what I mean.  They give you a 14 day trial so you can really kick the tires.  Once you decide to buy it, it's only 21 bucks.  Totally worth it.

A friend (the CTO) had told me about ZocDoc a few years back but I don't think I ever even looked at it.  At the time I had incredible insurance and had no need to find new doctors.  But as the health care crisis rages on, I'm constantly having to look for new doctors.

ZocDoc is "a free service that allows patients to book Doctor appointments online."  It also allows you to read reviews and see where various doctors who take your insurance are on a map.  

I can't say enough good things about this service.  You must, must, must try it out.
