Every year the elementary school where my friend Mike Clifford works, PS 274 in Brooklyn, participates in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk on Sunday, October 18th. The goal is to get folks to donate money to a very good cause. People are also encouraged to show their support by walking with our group on that day (details about that below).
In an effort to raise money, Mike is hosting a fundraiser the Friday before the walk at one of his favorite NYC bars: 8 Mile Creek in Soho. I’ve been invited to open up the night. It is going to freakin rock.
There will be a 5 dollar cover charge at the door. We’ll have drink specials, raffles, and door prizes. 8 Mile also volunteered to donate %10 of the bar for the evening to the cause!
